Our Mission

The Lord has planted us here to spread the Gospel in Allen Park and elsewhere.  He gave us gifts

and talents to use as we carry out our responsibilities of sharing the life giving and lifesaving Word

and Sacraments.  To this end, we commit our time, talents, and treasures in service to our Savior.

2023 Pledge Drive

Our 2023 Pledge drive continues.  Please look at the chart in the fellowship hall near the outside entrance. We have fallen behind, BUT if everyone adds a few dollars, we’ll make our goal of $3,000.00 this year.

Looking Ahead:

Church decorating: we are asking everyone to join us as we decorate our church for the Advent-Christmas season. There is much to do and more hands make the work light. We will gather on Saturday, November 25th, at 10:00 a.m.   Also, if you are available after Bible class today, we can begin bringing in items from the shed so our decoration day will go much quicker!

Our Church Planning meeting will be held Sunday, November 26th, after church to plan our 2024 calendar. Please take the time to help plan our new year. We will have a light lunch, so sign up if you can bring something.

Installation of Officers: On Sunday, December 3rd, we would like to have all Church Council members as well as all our Elders in service for Installation of Officers. We ask all officers, current and newly elected, to be part of this installation.

Advent By Candlelight will be held On Sunday, December 3rd at 6 p.m.

Mark your calendars to invite friends and family to our most inspiring evening to prepare for the coming of our Lord. It is always memorable and fun to look forward  to Christmas in this way. Please consider hosting a table.  It is so simple and easy to do. All you need to do is invite 5 guests to come for a relaxing evening before the activities of preparing for Christmas begin. Decorate your table with tablecloth, plates, flatware, napkins cups and candles. If you don’t have enough people to fill your table, we have a list of our members to join you! Hostesses’ signup and   general signup papers are at the church entrance.

Christ Our Redeemer Christmas Party, December 16th, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. This is a family fellowship event, so we hope you will invite your families to join you. This has always been a fun and exciting night! Our menu will include Sauerkraut and kielbasa, chicken, au gratin potatoes, salad, corn, rolls. Tickets will be available from Sarah Lange for $12.00 each.

As approved by Council: Services for Christmas and New Year:

Sunday, December 24 –Christmas Eve only. No services Sunday a.m or Monday a.m.

December 31 – Sunday morning only. No services Sunday evening or Monday a.m.

At the Voters meeting in October, we made some revisions as well as an addendum for the firearm policy. We voted for these to be permanent. This notice   is to advise the members of Christ our Redeemer that these revisions are available for you to read, and if you feel the need, to discuss, have the opportunity prior to the next voters’ meeting. Copies have been emailed as are also available at the church entrance. We will vote to make these permanent at the February Voters’ meeting.

Kroger Community Rewards

This program makes fundraising easy by donating to local organizations based on the shopping you do every day. Once you link your Card to an organization, all you have to do   is shop at Kroger and swipe your Shopper’s Card. Here’s how it works:

1) Create a digital account: A digital account is needed to participate in Kroger Community

Rewards. If you already have a digital account, simply link your Shopper’s Card to your

account so that all transactions apply toward the organization you choose.

2) Selecting the organization that you wish to support is as simple as updating the Kroger

Community Rewards selection on your digital account.

a). Sign in to your digital account.

b). Search for your organization

c). Enter the name or NPO number of the organization you wish to support

d). Select the appropriate organization from the list and click “Save”.

Your selected organization will also display in the Kroger Community Rewards

section of your account. If you need to review or revisit your organization, you

can always do so under your Account details

Any transactions moving forward using the Shopper’s Card number associated with your digital account will be applied to the program, at no added cost to you. Kroger donates annually to participating organizations based on your percentage of spending.

Jesus Dollars

Have you been checking those one-dollar bills in your pockets? We are again collecting “Lord…” “God…”, Jesus…” and “Christ” dollars for our church. You can tell one of these “Special” dollars by the letter located in the circle to the left of George Washington on the bill.  If there is a “L”, “G”, “J”, or “C” or in the circle, we are asking you to drop it into the white church located next to the organ. All the donated Jesus dollars will be designated to organ maintenance.
